Bluesky is a social media app that’s very similar to the social media app X, formerly known as Twitter. Like X, it allows people who have the app to post messages, pictures, and videos.

Some people know exactly what the app Bluesky is and some have an idea of it. And some others know absolutely nothing about it.

“No, but I heard some good things about it.” Jaeda Bolden-Spencer said.

Bluesky was started by Jack Dorsey in 2019, Twitter’s former Chief Executive. Dorsey left twitter in 2021and Blueskly came out as an independent company in 2022. Sense Bluesky was created by the man who was the former founder of twitter, Bluesky would have a similar look to it as Twitter.

“I think what I’ve seen so far is that it looks like twitter/X,” Michael Malcom-Bjorklund said. “But the changes haven’t looked too crazy or too different. It sort of looks like the same products.”

Twitter/X users have moved their interest to Bluesky. Bluesky is the alternative for those who are looking for something “new” to try.

“It could be. I logged in, I’ve created an account, people have started following me. I’m sort of just a lurker right now so, we’ll see how it turns out. If its just a fad or if people really seem to go for it.”

Dorsey created the app Bluesky because he wanted to give his users more control of their data and their experience.

“I think it was too political. I think some people probably recognized twitter as sort of being a political platform.” Michael Malcom-Bjorklund said. “Maybe some people were anti-Elon Musk. I think just overall people might have just wanted to go for something different and see if its any different and then go from there.”
