Meet George Whitback; a dedicated athletic freshman whose kindness stands out to all his teachers and friends.
Whitback is an honors student as well as involved in multiple sports, there is no surprise from his teachers that he was chosen as a student for this act of kindness assignment.
“I’m in football, wrestling, and track, then in the summer alight ball, most of them I’ve done since I was young, not all of them but two of them are impact sports I don’t know why I just like to be aggressive,” Whitback said.
Not only is Whitback actively involved in multiple sports he is also in an AP class as a freshmen, which is incredibly difficult for most first-year students and any grade level. When talking to One of his teachers she had some notable and kind things to say even though she has only known him for a few months.
“He’s a really nice student and works really well with others and groups, he’s sociable… not in a bad way,” Mrs. Howe honors English teacher said.
Then his honors geometry teacher, Mr. Novotny said “George does pretty well most of the time he try’s pretty hard, he’s a companionate guy, cares about the people around him.”
Another one of Whitback’s teachers, when asked about Whitback instantly knew what to say, which he says incredibly good things about Whitback being a very hardworking student.
“I have George for PE, he’s one of the hardest workers in here, he’s very intelligent a good kid, kind, caring, works well with others,” Patterson said.
Whitback talked about his love for sports and wanting to do some of them after high school, but unfortunately it is extremely hard.
“Some of them I think it would be pretty cool to pursue after high school but it’s kind of hard to do,” Whitback said.
With Whitback being an AP and honors student, a common question people have for student like this is how they keep up with their assignments. For Whitback it is doing his homework as soon as he can.
“I try to do them like usually about when the teacher gives them, so I don’t fall behind,” Whitback said.
Whitback being a very hard-working student a big question most people have about hardworking students is how they stay motivated, for Whitback that is his future after high school.
“In school my life after high school, I want to be a successful person then in sports just trying my best,” Whitback said.
With Whitback being a freshman and just doing the transition from middle school to high school he talked about the change in loads of homework.
“Just the amount of work, like I didn’t have as much work in middle school but now I have a ton of homework,” Whitback said.
Whitback’s goal for the next four years is he hopes to win a state championship in wrestling.
“I want to win a state championship in wrestling” Whitback said.
