The library has a new system for people to go in and out of the library this year. Instead of going to the library beforehand, you must go online to get a digital pass!
Last year there was a bit of struggle with the library passes. You had to find time to stop in the library during passing period or before school to get a paper pass. Now, there were some good things about this. For instance, Ms. McCune was able to verify if you have gotten a pass during the week because she has seen your face.
“We have a new program that we are using, and we want to make full use of that. So, it has a pass system with it, and a sign in and it works pretty smoothly and makes things easier for us to keep track of things,” McCune said.
Our librarians already have so much work cut out for them when it comes to finding new books, locating old books, and trying to keep people engaged with their love for reading. So, when it comes to making their job a little bit easier with this new pass system, trying the new system will be nice.
“I think people are still getting used to it, it’s something a little different, so with people still getting used to it, once it becomes more comfortable, it’ll be pretty good. We don’t have as many kids coming into lunch as we did last year, but that kinda happened when it happened last time,” Ms. McCune stated.
It will take some getting used to, but this new digital pass system will make things simpler for all who wish to come enjoy the library space. Sometimes change is needed to progress successfully.
“The new pass system is treating us great! I feel like each day we get a few more kids in, so eventually itll become what it used to be” McCune said.
