Haven Express is a food truck located in North Omaha, and it’s one of those spots that people usually hear about through word of mouth or social media. I personally heard about it through Instagram and my friend. I decided to try it out and ordered the wings and fries, which are pretty much a go to order when you want to really see how good a place is, and I noticed the owner posts a lot about his wings on Instagram, so I had to try it out.
The lemon pepper wings I ordered were the highlight of the meal. They came out hot and fresh, giving a good first impression. They looked amazing and had a strong, delicious smell. The wings were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, which is something a lot of places mess up. The seasoning was really good and had a nice balance of flavor without being too salty or overwhelming. You could tell they were cooked with care and not just rushed out. The sauce covered the wings well and didn’t make them soggy, which I appreciated because that can easily ruin the wings. To be honest, the wings were probably the best I have ever had.
The fries were also cooked well and had a nice crunch to them, especially on the ends. They weren’t bland either, which is a big plus. A lot of fries taste plain without sauce, but these had enough seasoning to stand on their own. They paired really well with the wings and made the meal feel complete.
Another thing I liked about Haven Express was the portion size. You definitely get your money’s worth, and the food was filling without being overwhelming. The food truck itself has a chill vibe, and it feels like a local spot that actually cares about what they’re serving. The owner of the truck was very nice, and you can tell he cares about what he makes. Service was a 10/10.
Overall, Haven Express is a great food truck, especially if you’re craving wings and fries. The food tasted fresh, the flavors were on point, and it’s the kind of place I’d go back to. If you’re in the area and want something quick but really good, Haven Express is definitely worth checking out.
