After Burke’s Student Council decision, students have been given the privilege to wear their Halloween costumes for the school day to celebrate the holiday.
With many students asking questions surrounding Burke’s involvement on the holiday by asking if the costumes are allowed, the student council has reached out to figure out whether they can or cannot be allowed.
“We were in a group meet and a girl just texted, can we wear costumes?” Elizabeth Omadevuae said.
Student Council members have organized a meet to talk about costumes in school. The students brought the attention to Mrs. Mitchell, who oversees the student council group.
“Last year I just asked if they wanted to do that because we were already doing Boo-grams, and they said yes,” Mrs. Mitchell said.
After the approval from the school’s administration, the Burke Student Council sent out an Instagram post on the approval of costumes.
The conditions were no masks, no face paint, and no weapons for the costumes.
“If you’re like not going to trick-or-treat or going anywhere, you got to at least wear something to school,” Omavaduae said.
