The Burke Esports team have qualified for the playoffs in their 2024 fall season after qualifying for the Mario Kart tournament for Thursday. The Esports team have had an enduring path towards their fall season by qualifying for the Mario Kart playoffs, scoring 5th in the central region out of 70 teams.
“I’m like we need some kind of like miracle to happen to make the playoffs and it just so happened. The kids were super excited to find out.” Mr. Woodman said.
Woodman is a history teacher that serves as the coach and supervisor for the Esports team. The students in the Esports team have celebrated their induction into the playoffs by successfully placing high in various tournaments for Mario Kart and Smash Brothers.
“We were full of excitement and we were ready to give it our all.” Daniel Ayala-Dillon said.
A lot of new things are in the future for the Esports team including unified leagues, chess.com, and the upcoming spring season for the team to try for the playoffs again.
“All I’m gonna say is that be ready to have a show.” Ayala-Dillon said.
