Landon Drake is a 10th grader who is involved in three sports at burke but even with that on all on his plate, he doesn’t let anyone bring down his confidence.
Being chosen for the Acts of Kindness project wasn’t something he was expecting but feel like it’s an honor.
“I think I was chosen because of sports but because I was picked, it makes me feel really good.” Said Drake
Drake takes pride in his sports as he does so many and has helped improve his high school experience.
“I do Basketball, Football and I throw for track. Doing these activities has changed me as I’ve got to meet some great people”
Burke holds many people who have inspires all and Drake has many of those who impact him.
“For basketball I would say Temo. I’ve played sports with him for years and he always be trying to keep the team up and giving a lot of energy.”
Burke being a diverse school means positive and negative experiences for many. Drake likes to highlight the positives in his Burke life when acknowledging the help of his coaches that have helped him be the great human he is today.
“Meeting a couple of my coaches as helped a lot. Coach Patterson has probably supported me the most as he is always there for me for anything I do.”
Looking outside of the Burke Bulldog life, Drake hopes to see into the Bluejay future.
“My goal is to play either football or like throw for college. My dream college is Creighton, so I hope to be to the goal.”
Of course, he isn’t constantly running with sports and enjoys the time to relax when she has the chances.
“I like to play video games and hang out with my family when I can”
Family is really important to his and its important for him to find time to be with them and be in their warming presence.
“I would thank my mom because she pushes me into doing stuff I don’t want to because she sees the best in me.”
Continuing with family influence, he wants to do IT work to continuing helping people.
“I want to do like IT work in the future. I wanna go into this field because that’s what my dad does, and it would seem cool to work with computers.”
As a sophomore, he still has a few more years to make an impact on the Burke Bulldogs and the world how good of a person he is.
“Coming to Burke has made me a better person because I’ve learned that it doesn’t really matter what other people care about and I just need to be myself.”
