Landon Edwards is a sophomore at Burke high school who loves anything to do with Motors
“ I got a strong passion for anything to do with a motor like cars, motorcycles, anything,” Landon Edwards said.
Edwards values, his relaxation and free time after school.
“I like going on walks, listening to music and just laying back at home,” Edward’s said.
Edwards reveals the reason behind doing his best all the time.
“My parents and my friends motivate me. I want to make my friends and my parents proud and I want to make them feel like they raised a good son that works hard and never gives up,” Edwards said.
Edwards is close to his father and calls him an inspiration.
“He’s never given up. He’s never stopped taking care of his kids. He’s never stopped working. He never took a break, he always does what’s best,” Edwards said.
Edwards went through a great deal as a child.
“My mom and my dad lost custody of me for a little bit and they got a divorce, so I guess that kind of inspires me because I don’t want to end up doing bad like they did.”
Edwards perseverance and motivation is paying off as he is a bright student in Burke high school’s journalism organization.
Landon is truly a gift as a student,” Malcom-Bjorklund said. “While he might not be the typical journalism student, he cares about his grades and his craft. He truly is a classic case of never judging a book by its cover.”
Edwards already has some of his life planned out after high school.
“ I plan on going to a trade school. I’m not quite sure about the mechanic part yet just because considering cars are all turning electric and I hate working with wires so I’m more leaning towards welding and just working outside like being an arborist.”
Edwards desires to move on from Omaha and stay away from the city.
“My plan after high school is to just work my butt off nonstop and then hopefully by the time I’m in my mid 30’s or 40’s I want to be able to buy a house away from Omaha away from everyone else, still Nebraska, just away from the drama,” Edwards said.
Edwards has fears and doubts how his future will go.
“One thing I fear for my future is that I’ll end up getting a good job with great pay, but I am scared to get let off of that job and then I’m stuck with no job, becoming homeless and not being able to pay my bills and just falling off and going down hill in life. My goal for my life is to always stay up and not get brought down.”
