While some people always looks toward the future, Alexander Burn (10) finds himself looking toward the past.
As an avid history buff, Burn soars in his history classes.
“My favorite subject is history because I think it’s interesting to learn about the past and how different certain time periods and cultures were from ours” Burn said.
With his love of history burn has made many achievements in school like getting a 5 on his apush test or creating his own history pathway.
“I was very excited and happy about both. For apush, I got there by taking lots of notes in class and doing all of the homework” Burn said “for my pathway, I got there by going through the steps of choosing what classes I wanted it to be and getting it approved by counselors and the academy director”
Burn isn’t just focused on history and school, he has many other after school activity’s and interests.
“The main activity or hobby that I do outside of school is piano I also do quiz bowl and this year I’m doing bowling”Burn said “for interests I guess just music in general, also I like reading when I have time to”
Burn likes when he can do his activity’s and interests with friends.
“My favorite part of quiz bowl is traveling to other schools to do competitions and being able to do it with friends” Burn said “My favorite part of bowling is learning how to throw the ball correctly to get strikes.”
With Burns busy schedule he has to figure out how to balance his school and home life.
“I decide what assignments I will do in class based on what classes I have later that day and if I have free time in them.” Burn said “ I usually finish assignments in class and I try not to have homework. If I do, I usually try to get it done early so it won’t be a problem later”
Throughout Burns life he has had many influential people like his parents and teachers.
“Probably both of my parents because they have taught me good morals like to be kind to people and to be responsible for yourself” Burn said “both Ms Boltinghouse and Ms Howe
Burn has always gone to school Nebraska, he lived in Baltimore until he was around 5 which gave him the opportunity of not having to move schools.
