Meet Braxton Logeman; a dedicated and hardworking senior whose kindness and compassion stands out to most people he meets.
Braxton is an honors student as well as involved in multiple extracurriculars, including national honors society, and playing two sports, there is no surprise from his teachers that he was chosen as a student for this act of kindness assignment.
“I do cross country, swimming, for Burke this year then I used to play soccer for Burke. It’s kind of what I did when I was younger, and it just seemed fun. I’m involved in NHS and I’m treasurer this year and then I’m also involved in senior senate,” Braxton Logeman said
Not only is Braxton actively involved in after school curricular’s he is also very dedicated to his classes and keeping his grades up. All of Braxton teachers had very notable and kind things to say about him.
“I had Braxton as a freshman, in A-push, honors English, Braxton is a really fantastic student he’s also just a really really great kid, like to everyone just to his teachers and his classmates, he’s just really sweet and kind to everyone, Braxton is quieter in class but he works really well with other students, never had any issues with anybody and always made sure everybody does their best work,” Mrs. Howe his old English teacher said
“Braxton is very selfless, he puts others before himself he really cares about how others around him are doing, he’s very friendly, and he cares a lot about doing what he needs to do to put him in the best position to be successful,” Mr. Novotny said
Braxton talked about his love for engineering and his goals to go to college and major in it, as well as his wants to stay closer to Omaha for his family.
“After school I’m planning on going to college to study something in engineering, future goals are to get a college degree get a job as an engineer somewhere, and stay somewhat close to Omaha,” Logeman said
Surprisingly, Braxton is not the only Logeman at Burke, his mom, Donita Logeman teaches biology here. When told her son was chosen for this assignment she wasn’t surprised, she talked not only about her son as a person but also gave her perspective on his strengths and weaknesses.
“He’s smart, athletic, he thinks of others likes to help others, and all around just a nice kid to be around whether your an adult or another kid he’s very nice to everybody,” Donita Logeman said.
“Strengths I think he’s a good leader, he’s good at motivating people, he’s good at giving instructions, his weakness which is also his one strength is he’s a perfectionist, he has to have everything done perfectly, and sometimes it takes him a little bit longer but it’s a good and bad thing,” Donita Logeman said.
Braxton’s point of view on her strengths and weakness was a bit different then his moms,
“My strengths are probably keeping organized and getting stuff done on time, my weaknesses are… I don’t really know,” Braxton Logeman said.
With Braxton being a very hard-working student a big question most people have about hardworking students is how they stay motivated, for Braxton that extra motivation comes from his family, specifically he talks about his mom.
“My family cause like my mom works here she’s a teacher, so she’s a big motivator, it’s pretty fun actually, I’m actually in her class which is cool,” Braxton Logeman said.
Another big question for very involved and studious students is how they handle stress, Braxton mentions his main ways to handle stress are sports and exercising with the involvement in sports he already has it makes sense it serves as a stress reliever.
“I handle stress by exercising a lot, and playing sports,” Braxton logeman said.
