When Nobi Sakina moved to America, she knew she was going to fulfill her dreams of getting an education. 

Nobi lived in Afghanistan her whole life until 2022 and had moved to Omaha, Nebraska. Nobi said she had a peaceful life in Afghanistan but there was a war happening and many were getting harmed due to the violence or trying to escape it to get better lives, her and her family weren’t harmed but they decided to move out of Afghanistan so they could have a better life and more opportunities. Women and girls weren’t allowed to get an education and if they did they only had one until a certain age. Nobi said she said an education at a really young age but her education stopped when she was done with third grade. Women couldn’t get jobs so a lot of women who had dreams of being something weren’t able to show their dreams in the job they wanted to do.  

Nobi and her family moved to America to get a better life. When Nobi moved, she remembered her dream of going to get an education, she got enrolled at Burke High school as a first-year student and earned forty-nine credits in two and half years of attending which exceeded many people’s expectations.  

Nobi has impressed many with her academic skills and perseverance to get the education and grades needed to achieve her dreams many are also impressed with the work and dedication she had to get all forty-nine credits in that amount of time considering her age and how many of her peers at her age don’t commit to a lot of things the way she did. Many teachers have been impressed with the work she has done with the short amount of time attending Burke. Teachers have said Nobi helps her peers with their work even and has no problem tutoring others if they’re struggling  

Nobi has a bright future ahead of her. Planning on going to college after she graduates and completing her dream of attending school. A lot of colleges are reaching out to Nobi due to her grades and credits whatever college she decides to attend they’ll be lucky to have her but currently she’s uncertain of the career she wants to go in she has ideas but she’s not certain as of now but she said she’s going to make a decision when she goes to college.
