As counselor’s week is approaching, Burke is taking opportunities to thank the counseling department for all they do for Burke. Some students have the amazing opportunity to volunteer as student aid for our counselors.

Junior Gabrielle Winther is serving her first semester as a counselors aid and enjoys her time there.

“When I first became an aid this semester, I never really talked to any of the counselors before. But coming in here and helping them all out feels really good. All the counselors were so welcoming too,” Winther said.

Erandy Hernandez is serving her second semester as a counseling aid and always feels comfortable talking with her counselors.

“Everyone in here is so kind and helpful. They make it so easy to talk to them as well. I’m always so happy to be in here and help out,” Hernandez said.

Mrs. Mukherjee, one of burke’s communications academy counselors says she loves what she does and has so much gratitude for being able to help students.

“Coming in here everyday and being with the students is truly a privilege. I love being able to be an outlet for students to go to if they ever need anything,” Mukherjee said.

Mrs. Hines, the counseling secretary says that the counselors have become some of her best friends and she’s grateful for all they do.

“I feel like I’m close with all of them. They feel like my best friends. I always have a smile on my face whenever I’m here, and we can always have a  good laugh with one another. Ion truly grateful for all of them and all they do,” Hines said.
