The way kids dressed has changed drastically compared to middle school and high school, but even middle schoolers dress like they’re in high school and its kind of crazy to see especially if a lot of high schoolers middle school years weren’t that far away and they are seeing what these kids younger than them are wearing, its kind of jaw dropping to see.
“Yes, they dress a lot older than what they should. Mostly because schools and parents don’t care anymore what kids wear,” Alaiyah Lytle said.
Since some middle schoolers dress like high schoolers, some high schoolers dress like middle schoolers or younger. This isn’t to say they don’t have style but it kind of gets to a point where you’re almost done with high school and you’re still dressing like your younger than what you are.
It’s kind of a point of saying, “am I mature?” People look at you and can understand what your personality is based off your style and music taste. If someone were to look at you and your outfit looked like you were a middle schooler and you were a junior or above, that person would probably think your less mature or childish, and yes I’m giving freshman and sophomore a pass cause they could still be fining their style.
“I wouldn’t say less mature, it truly just depends on what they’re wearing, if its like outfits that you would wear in 2020 its fine I don’t care. But if its like something inappropriate then it becomes a problem.” Tanya Lopez said.
Even high schoolers dress older that what they are or just dress a way that makes them look older or more mature in away, but the way people dress doesn’t always account for their maturity level but it could play a part in it to a degree. Everyone has their own style, style brings out peoples personality, so if someone sees your style and you dress in a bright orange shirt with blue basketball shorts, that person may think you act childish but in reality you might not be.
That could be the same way around if you wore jeans, a tank top, a cool belt, or whatever you think pulls your outfit together and if someone were to see that and they wanted to be your friend and they find out that your actually not as mature as you seem and that might turn people away, or it might not, depends on if the person is ok with that.
“No I do not because baby’s wear proper attire all the time and they spit up on themselves and don’t even know how to speak so how mature can they be,” David Segura Diaz de Leon said.
