Emily Dickinson should be considered the start of poetry because her words were a work of art. 

On the basic level of homoerotic, Dickinson would definitely be the face of it. She wrote longing poems explicitly addressed to women. She was made for every LGBTQ+ writer because she definitely inspired people to begin their writing journey, because in every way she definitely plays a part in my inspiration of writing poetry. Dickinson was just meant to touch paper and write her every thought on paper.  

Dickinson wrote 1,775 poems and all of them are so touching and even with that huge number it probably isn’t all of the poems of hers just the ones that were found. It wouldn’t be surprising if she burned the poems between her and her best friend because it seems to bevery known that her and her best friend had something going on and that’s not confirmed but friendly is not what the word should be instead. It’s a quirk or more a benefit because being in love with a woman makes the best poetry, and pain also brings the best wording known to man, and it would have to be a joke that poetry isn’t one of the best languages of this planet.  

The best thing about Dickinson her passion because I mean the girl wrote her life away like how many poems, she has it would make sense that she wrote like her life depended on it, but that’s the most normal thing about being a poet. It’s like a sink hole once you fall in it,you’ll struggle to get out of it, but Poetry definitely has a better outcome than a sink hole so it should be indulged in, and Dickinson definitely indulged in it.  

‘Her sweet Weight on my Heart a Night 

Had scarcely deigned to lie — 

When, stirring, for Belief’s delight, 

My bride had slipped away — 

If ‘twas a Dream — made solid — just  

The Heaven to confirm  

Or if Myself were dare send of Her 

With Him remain who unto Me — 

Gave — even as to All — 

A Fiction superseding Faith — 

By so much — as ‘twas real —‘ 

This poem was her 518th and it was written in 1862 and if it doesn’t scream a little queer of her then literally what will? Besides the point I keep making that happens to be a personal favorite because those alleged rumors are something to live by her words in her poetryhave so much perspective. She knew her way painting a picture and making someone really engulf into her way of literature.  

Dickinson is made to be the one kids learn about when it comes to poetry because let’s be honest Shakespear is so boring and has been talked about so much it really gets exhausting, and it would be a breath of fresh air to have some new kinds of poetry in the field. Honestly any well written poet who is a women would be nice in the poetry field, but Dickinson is a personal favorite, and not enough people know about her, and even if people aren’t into poetry there is a show about her literally called Dickinson, and you can learn a little about her then and have a new show to binge watch. She just be known and it’s sad hearing anyone say “who is that.”  

Emily Dickinson was made for literature and definitely deserves to have a standing ovation for the work she contributed into the art of writing.
