Super Bowl LX: Seahawks vs. Pats (Are you ready?)

The New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks are headed to the Super Bowl. The only real question is who wins. Good thing I already know the answer. With the AFC and NFC championship games coming up, the matchups will decide who meets in Super Bowl 60. With the Denver Broncos facing the Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams taking on the Seahawks, the ending feels pretty clear.

On the AFC side, it gets settled this Sunday, and like I said earlier, the New England Patriots will take it. After the Broncos’ win over the Bills last weekend, their star quarterback Bo Nix suffered a broken ankle, which likely ends Denver’s near-perfect season. Backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham is a clear downgrade, and the Patriots will take full advantage. Drake Maye puts up MVP-level numbers as New England controls the game. The Broncos defense will do its job, but the offense won’t be able to respond. With that, the Patriots punch their ticket to the Super Bowl for the first time in years without Tom Brady.

Over in the NFC, two strong teams meet again in Seattle. The Rams survived a close game against Caleb Williams, but they didn’t look great doing it. The cold played a factor, but unlike their last matchup with the Seahawks, this game won’t go to overtime. After Seattle dominated the 49ers, it’s hard to see anyone slowing them down. The Rams’ offense is electric, and if Matthew Stafford’s finger holds up, he will keep them competitive. Still, Seattle is too dominant, especially at home. Sam Darnold, no matter how his oblique is feeling, has too many weapons. With the Seahawks defense playing like the second coming of the Legion of Boom, they limit the Rams enough to pull away. Seahawks by 10.

With the matchup set, Seattle and New England go head-to-head to see who is really the better team. Drake Maye and Sam Darnold keep it close early, with both quarterbacks playing in their first Super Bowl and refusing to let their teams down. People love to doubt playoff Sam Darnold, but he barely broke a sweat against the 49ers. Seattle’s weapons outweigh New England’s by a mile. With Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Kenneth Walker leading the way, the Seahawks overwhelm the Patriots defense. New England is a good team, but their path to the Super Bowl has been underwhelming. Because of that, the Seattle Seahawks win Super Bowl 60, with Sam Darnold capping off one of the most unexpected championship runs in recent memory.
