Senior year is something you hear about forever, but once you’re actually in it, it goes by way too fast. It feels like it just started, and now it’s already coming to an end. Looking back, its been one of the best and most important years of high school.
One thing I learned is to not take anything for granted. Whether it’s going to games or even just school events, those moments will last forever. It’s easy to skip things or say you’ll go next time, but as a senior there isnt just a next time.
I also realized how important people around you are. The friendships Ive built and connections Ive made can be some of the best memories.
At the same time, senior year can be stressful with thinking about my future. College, jobs, and big decisions can feel overwhelming. My advice is to stay focused, but don’t let it take over your whole year. You only get one senior year, so enjoy it to the fullest.
For the class of ‘27, my biggest advice is dont wait. Go to the events, support your friends, send those emails, make the connections and put yourself out there. Even if you’re unsure or nervous, just do it. You’ll regret the things you didn’t do more then the things you did do.
Also, be present. Don’t spend the whole time on your phone. Actually take in the moments because one day you’ll look back and miss them.
Senior year isnt just about finishing school. It’s about making the most of your last year and enjoying every moment before its gone.
