Bulldogs take on Mustangs in nail-biter
Going into their game against #10 ranked Millard North on April 11, the varsity baseball team were underdogs, but at the end of the 9th, they upset the Mustangs 6-5.
The score was tied 5-5 in the top of the last inning. Senior Rodney Whaley started the inning off with a triple to right field, then senior Ryne Renbarger hit him home to take the lead. The Bulldogs went back out to the field for the last inning where junior Thomas Reid closed the inning. The last ball was hit to senior Spencer Cooper where he fielded the ball and made the out at first base.
“[When the ball was hit to me] I felt confident I could get the job done, and I am just happy we won,” Cooper said. “I didn’t want to blow such a close game.”
