Senior Love: Jonae Davis

A profile story!

Jonae Davis is a senior here at Burke High School, and they are very special to many people. They are involved in multiple different activities here, many involving music. They are in Chamber Orchestra, Color Guard, and also pit for the upcoming musical showing in April. “I started playing the cello in fourth grade,” Davis said. “When I saw the teacher sit down to play, I knew that I was destined to play it.”

Jonae was able to be put into the Chamber Orchestra their freshman year, which many are not so lucky to say. “I gained confidence, and it helped me to be able to play with other people.” Davis said.

During that time, a big inspiration for Jonae was Spencer Feldman. Spencer was a junior at that time, and was someone for them to look up to. “He was very helpful with giving me the resources to be better in my future.” Jonae said.

Another big inspiration for Davis is their mother. In some ways, Jonae says that their mother acts like a friend sometimes. “Sometimes when she acts like a friend, it’s easier for me to open up to her, and talk about things that bother me,” Davis said. “Sometimes, you just need a big-kid friend in your life.”
