Holly Philips is a senior at Burke and although she isn’t doing tens of thousands of activities like some students here, Philips is still leaves her mark in many of ways including her sense of style and personalization.

School life can seem pretty bare, but Philips stays involved with the small things she enjoys, not overloading herself with too many things.

“I play in Orchestra, used to be in chamber but I still really enjoy getting to play. I’m also really involved in journalism, or at least I try to be but I kind of wish I did more.” Philips said.

Even if school is a big place where many take their chance to shine, Philips is very active when not stuck in a classroom for 8 hours.

“I work at Le Peep, and there I basically do everything. I work as a Server, I was a coffee bar lead for awhile, I host, I bus table, I literally do a little bit of everything. The main thing I like about my job is my coworkers, and they’ve just become my friends to which I hang out with a lot of them outside of work.” Philips said.

While out with friends, coffee stops and thrifting are her go to pastime as fashion is one of Philips pride and joys.

“Thrifting is one of my hobbies, I like to just make sure I’m fitted up!” Philips said.

And even without her clothes, another standout feature is Philips tattoo collection, each cute and meaningful

“The first tattoo that I ever got, it was a dragonfly on the back of my left shoulder. At the time when I got it, it was a stick and poke, and it was like my first rebellious thing I’ve done but it also resembles freedom for me.” Philips said.

While her first tattoo resembles her personal freedom, Philips second tattoo has a closer place to home.

“The second one I got was my first real tattoo. Its three fish one my forearm which represent me and my two older brothers as we’ve been close all through childhood and they mean a lot to me. They are fish because my dad taught us all how to fish when we were kids.” Philips said.

Lastly, Philips most recent tattoo, that brings her together as a current whole.

“The third one I got are two deer, on my abdomen and they represent Bambi. That was one of my favorites movies when I was younger and deer are just my favorite animal.” Philips said.

From endless piercings and her thrifted fashion, Philips is a senior who will leave a lasting impact on those who have interacted with her.

“Get tatted up and pierced up guys! There really is no shame” Philips said.
