Gabrielle Winther, better known as gabby, is a senior at burke high school. She’s spent the last 4 years here/ for 3 of those, she’s been involved in the journalism department as a multimedia editor. Although writing stories has never been apart of Gabby’s routine, she now takes on the role of creating podcasts for the burke YouTube channel.

“For me writing stories wasn’t something I wanted to do but I do love the journalism community, so I wanted to be a part of it. I love listening to podcasts, so that’s what I asked to do and I love it. It gives me the creative freedom to talk about what I enjoy. It does make me really happy to have that in my school life,” gabby said.

Gabby’s interest in being apart of the journalism department started with her passion for photography. As she began her passion in 5th grade, it was only a matter of time when that passion surged into what she does today.

“Growing up my stepmom was and still is a photographer and so it truly inspired me to take that up. Seeing how you can capture the moment with a photo, something about it is so amazing to me. I love being able to look back at the photos and feel the emotion through just a screen. It’s truly art and it’s something I think I’ll always be interested in,” Gabby said.
